The 2wire PC Card is designed with a choice of security levels to protect your data. The Gold version provides enhanced security with a 128-bit encryption key. The 2wire PC Card is interoperable with other manufacturers high-speed IEEE compliant systems and is fully compliant with the WECA (Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance) Wi-Fi 'wireless fidelity' standard.
It delivers a data transfer rate of 11 Mbps up to a range of 1750 feet, and features a built-in connector. With a PC type II form factor, low power consumption, advanced power management and rugged design, the Client PC card is ideal for notebook computers, mobile and handheld platforms. It enhances the security against eavesdropping by WEP+ protection against weak initialization vectors using user selectable 64- and 128-bit WEP keys. It also includes built-in hardware support for upgrade to Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA). The echo path management feature makes it an excellent choice for large indoor spaces such as lecture halls, transit locations and corporate facilities. With global roaming per 802.11d standard, the Client Gold PC Card can be used in any country worldwide without any special configuration.
